Music, Festivals and Fairs

Fairs and Festivals abound throughout the year. From car shows and motorcyle meets to antique fairs, renowned craft shows, concerts, and wine and food festivals, there's something for everyone.

The Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, a prestigious event which began in the 1890's, is a concert series held on the campus of the Yale Summer School of Music in Norfolk, CT. Orchestral and choral performances are presented from June through August.

Music Mountain in Falls Village, CT is one of the country's premiere destinations for intimate chamber-music concerts. The summer festival season includes more than 15 concerts, featuring a series of Jazz, Big Band, and Country programs. Founded in 1930, it's the oldest continuing summer chamber music festival in the United States.

Each July, the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival is held on Dodd's Farm in Hillsdale, NY as a community celebration of folk music and dance. More than 40 acts, from emerging artists to nationally-known performers, take to the stage over three days.

The late summer Columbia County Fair in Chatham, NY and Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck, NY, are old-fashioned country fairs, complete with cooking contests, horse shows, tractor pulls, a firefighters' parade, and midway amusements. Be sure not to miss The NYS Sheep & Wool Festival in October and other events held throughout the Spring & Summer at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.
